Comission information

original paintings done especially for your home.

Your vision + My skill = Beautiful Artwork

When you commission a piece of art, you get to have a say in what ends up on the canvas. That special mountain valley you go to when you need space, the epic fly-in ski mission you went on in the yukon this winter, the river you fish on with your family each summer, these special spots deserve to be captured.

Learn about the process:

  • All of my paintings are priced based on their size.

General pricing for all of my work is between $3 and $4 per square inch, the variation in pricing depends on the complexity of each piece.

For example, if you’d like a complex, large painting of a mountain valley, on a 24 x 30-inch canvas, it’s quite detailed and will require many layers to get the right look. This will come to about $2,880 CAD PST

  • As you’d expect, making art is a process, and often times it can take a while to achieve the final product that makes you the collector, and the artist happy. Large paintings can easily take up to 100 hours or more to complete.

I ask that patience is given, and paintings are typically completed within a calendar year as many are being worked on at the same time.

If needed on a tighter timeframe, a rush fee of 20% can be added if I’m able to accept the timeline.

  • In order to complete a commission, the following steps need to be taken:

    1. We discuss the details of the painting required, ie: size, concept, and image specifics. We can either meet up locally in Smithers BC, over email, or facetime. Rough details of the delivery date, costs, etc, are also covered.

    2. We decide on a reference (usually a collection of images) to use for the painting. A photoshoot is needed if the provided reference is too difficult/low quality to work from. If you want a specific location further abroad you may fly me to the location (same day return) to do a photoshoot of the location the you are interested in.

    3. Design confirmed and a 50% deposit obtained. Feedback can be requested during the progress of the painting and changes can be made to suit. I typically give an update at the halfway point but feel free to keep in contact with me throughout.

    4. When completed the painting is then photographed for my personal collection and records. Either detailed photos are sent to you to view prior to shipping or you can and I can arrange a local pick-up.

    5. Paintings are either packaged and couriered to you or I come and deliver the painting, depending on your location. The balance of payment is due and payable on delivery or before the painting is couriered to you.

  • Given the amount of work I typically have on-the-go without commissions, I highly recommend adding your name to the waitlist.

If you are certain you would like a commissioned painting done, this ensures you have a spot in the queue, when it comes up.

No deposit is taken for being added to the list, until I contact you to start the process of completing the commission.
